How they ended up here / Why Civil Engineering

Son of an aeronautical and systems engineer, Ryan knew he wanted to be an engineer from an early age. He was attracted to the wide variety of technical knowledge required by the Civil discipline, as well as the opportunities to interact closely with the construction industry. But the more experience he gained, the more he was drawn to the Civil industry for a different reason: people. Ryan gained a respect for the importance of the human element in design and construction, that all the technical analysis, code compliance, design work, and value engineering must ultimately serve to make our community and environment a better place to live and be.

Favorite part of their job

Ryan enjoys the exposure to new challenges that come with a wide variety of projects. He most enjoys the opportunity to see his work embedded in the community in which he lives.

Other Interests

A former AMGA instructor, Ryan loves rock climbing in all forms. In the off-season, he can often be found tinkering in his woodshop or enjoying a coffee.
