Role:  Project Manager

How they ended up here / Why Planning or Design

Lauren began her studies in architecture, drawn to the idea of shaping places, but found the creative side wasn’t the right fit. Coming from a family of engineers, she explored that path too, but it didn’t quite click. Then she discovered city and regional planning—a field that blended structure, creativity, and problem-solving in just the right way. Since then, she’s enjoyed helping communities define their vision and create the policies to bring it to life.

Before joining Line and Grade, Lauren worked for a variety of local and regional governments, gaining hands-on experience in everything from long-range planning to current development review. This range of roles gave her a front-row view of the challenges planning departments face at every stage of the process. Now, as a project manager, she draws on that experience to help planners navigate those challenges with practical, thoughtful solutions that are grounded in real-world understanding.

Favorite part of their job

Lauren’s favorite part of the job is seeing planning ideas and policies take shape on the ground—watching a plan, code update, or zoning change eventually turn into something tangible. There’s nothing more rewarding than knowing that a document she helped create is guiding real decisions, shaping development, and ultimately making a lasting impact in a community.

Other Interests

Lauren enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, reading, and cooking.
