How they ended up here / Why Civil Engineering

Kendra started at UVA in the kinesiology program, thinking she wanted to become a chiropractor. Feeling dissatisfied, she made the switch to engineering - a decision that was completely arbitrary at the time. Civil engineering has fueled her interest in the world around her and brought her great satisfaction, giving her new challenges to overcome everyday. 

 

Favorite part of their job

Taking complex problems and breaking them up into their components to simplify them - whether there are zoning, relational, schedule-oriented, or technical challenges, engineering is all about problem solving. The relational aspect is key.
