Charleston Housing Development Feasibility Analysis

Line and Grade supported Bloomberg Associates in their comprehensive housing strategic plan for the city of Charleston, South Carolina.

As part of this robust mayor-led initiative, Line and Grade is focusing on analyzing housing development feasibility, for both market-rate and affordable housing, and the feasibility of public sector interventions.

A primary deliverable in this effort is the creation for city staff and decision makers of a comprehensive market evaluation and analysis tool.

This data-focused tool provides a means for evaluating the city’s housing market across the city’s many housing types and disparate sub-markets. The tool allows for users to quantify and evaluate housing feasibility, and the financial implications of different public sector incentives, from regulatory changes to financial incentives. The tool itself is a leave-behind that staff can use to help make informed housing policy decisions, far past the end date of our project.
