Transporation Rehabilitation
Line and Grade has been retained by the City of Roanoke to re-imagine, rehabilitate and redesign the Colonial Avenue corridor which bisects Virginia Western Community College’s campus. Planned improvement include replacing three traditional intersections with roundabouts (two single-lane roundabouts, one dual-lane roundabout), providing pedestrian amenities, bicycle lanes, utility upgrades, new vehicular and pedestrian scale lighting and 4 linear bioretention facilities. In addition, the work includes substantial re-development of the VWCC parking lot in order to integrate the new work with the existing campus. Currently the project is under construction and is approximately 65% complete.
